State how igneous rocks, give a property of them and state where they are found in the UK

A
  • Igneous rocks (e.g. granite) are formed when magma from the Earth’s mantle cools and hardens.
  • A typical property of igneous rocks is that they are hard.
  • Igneous rocks are found mainly in Scotland, the North-East of England, in the Lake District and in Snowdonia (in Wales).
