the redevelopment of cities particularly to improve obvious negative traits within urban areas eg unemployment
brownfield sites
any previously developed land that is currently not in use
greenfield sites
undeveloped land which has not been built on before
gentrification
the socio economic changes that often accompany reinvestment into an inner city area as wealthier people move into an area often displacing existing inhabitants and businesses due to rising costs and changing culture
footloose
a business that is unrestricted in its location and so can be far from sources of resourses eg computer chips
teleworking
the ability to work from home accessing work responsibilities through the internet and phones
range
the distance that a consumer is willing to travel to purchase a particular product low value items like groceries have a shorter range than high value goods such as cars
threshold
the minimum population size needed to create demand for an item or service
catchment area
the geographical area from which a shop or service gets its customers
