Endogenous:
- Location - where? Rural, coastal, urban, central, bridge point, confluence of roads
- Topography - shape of landscape, natural hills etc, affects place character e.g land use, flat for agric, mt for pastoral
- Physical geo - enviro (relief, altitude, land use, built, soil, rock type) - determines landscapes (e.g rock types e.g sed, met or ign) + character (econ - rich natural resources e.g coal mining)
- Land use - rural - farming, urban - fin servs, high density built - business, low density - residential, leisure, changes e.g deindustrialization
- Built enviro + infrastructure - centres with higher density, towers, complex transport + seweres + communication networks, cathedrals - village low density less complex, market squares village halls
- Demogs + econ characteristics
Exogenous: relationships with other places
