Change over switches
•Certain systems onboard are essential to ship operation.
•If power to these fails a Jew source has to be quickly obtained.
•Change over switches are used to accomplished this change.
•Two of the change over switches used are:
-ROCOS
-ACOS
ROCOS Remote Operated Change over switch
- A ROCOS is often incorporated in the EDP.
* As the name implies, it is operated from a remote location such as the Ships font centre.
ROCOS
a stand alone ROCOS is usually located very close to the item to be operated.
ACOS
An ACOS can be incorporated in another unit like the ROCOS.
A stand alone ACOS is located very close to the item operated.
Change over switches
These change over switches may be connected to the equipment to be operated.
There may be a hand change over switch between ROCOS/ACOS and the equipment to be operated.
