steepest slope w/ SW aspect
River edge= more clay = richer, more earthy style
Les Preuses
above Bougros on higher slopes = rounder and softer
Forchaume is to the north
Vaudesir

amphitheater shape- cut through by “chemin de Vaudesir” = dual aspects - South. and SW.
lighter soils = softer, elegant, floral wines… light than rest of GC
Les Grenouilles
the frogs. 9.5 Ha. 23 a
smallest GC - on riverbank. S - SE aspect = fully ripening sunshine. = riper flavors, orange peel, honey…
Valmur
11 Ha. 27 a
Nadir of Valley = varying aspects
considered best expression of Chablis - steely, racy, dense, powerful
Les Clos
27 Ha. 66 a
Optimum location - consistent slope facing SW = fully ripe. white stoney soil.
better with age
Les Blanchot
13 Ha. 32 a
around the hill from Les Clos
on SE side - less sun = less ripe = more fresh acid, lighter with lime/grapefruits
Irancey
Near chablis - similar soils - for Reds from Pinot Noir
St. Bris
SW of Chablis = Sauvignon Blanc
