Q

What are the properties of a series circuit

A
  • One switch can turn on/off all the components
  • If one component breaks, it causes a gap in the circuit and causes the others to stop
  • Voltage supply is shared by all the components. The more bulbs, the dimmer. The larger the resistance, the bigger its share of the voltage.

Q

What are the properties of a parallel circuit

A
  • Switches can be placed in different parts to switch off each bulb individually, or altogether
  • If one component breaks, only those on the same branch stop working
  • It’s branch receives the same voltage. More bulbs being added doesn’t affect the brightness.
