Q

What are the general listing trends– What types (major taxonomic groups) of species are more likely to be listed? When are species listed?

A

-Majority of listed species are plants and vertebrates
-Species listed when populations are extremely small (Difficult to bring species back, many listed
when 100 remain)
-Listing is slow (strong protection of listed species, landowners and developers often fight listing)
-Early listing (In situ cons cost less, higher success that waiting until drastic measures are
needed)
