ch7 attack hose loads, finishes, hose packs, and deployment procedures Flashcards
what are hose load finishes?
arrangements of hose that are someties placed on top of a hose load and connected to the end of the supply hose load
the attack load that is most often used is the?
preconnected attack hoseline
What two categories can hose finishes fall in?
those for forward lays and those for reverse lays
what does a forward lay hose finish provide
additional hose to reach from the place where the pumping apparatus starts the forward lay to the water source
what are the three forward lay hose finishes?
donut, two donut, rip rap
what is the primary advantage of a reverse load hose finish?
the entire length of the hose needed to reach the emergency scene fro mthe street can be pulled in one motion
what are the the three reverse lay finishes?
cisco, reverse horseshoe, and skid load
what does a cisco finish conisist of?
two 100-150 ft lengths of hose each connected to one side of a gated wye, laid accordoin style
what does a reverse horseshoe finish consist of?
two or three 50 ft sections of hose, each connected to a wye, hose is laid horseshoe style

a blank hose bed is the traditional location to carry preconnected fire hose
longitudinal
what is the primary advantage of a transverse bed?
places hose close to the seated fire and emergency service responders
This location makes the hose accessible for deployment while protecting it from exposure damage?
tailboard compartment tray
These locations give fire and emergency service responders easy access to the attack hoseline by placing it in a locatoin next to the crew compartment
side compartment
Attack fire hose carried in blank is especially well suited for an attack on smalle fires such as grass fires, dumpster fires, and vehicle fires
front bumper wells, sometimes referred to as a trash line
