What were the MAIN reasons for the desire to explore?
They had a desire to expand trade, expanding the gold supply and also expanding Christianity. The previous routes were dangerous; along with high prices for goods.
Why did the Europeans need to expand their gold supply?
Because their currency was made out of silver and gold coins, and their mines were running out of those resources.
What was the battle of Diu; who won and why?
The battle of Diu was a battle between Arab merchants and the Portuguese. The Portuguese won because they had cannons.

Ferdinand Magellan; and he went South around South America into the Pacific Ocean.
What was the Silk Road and why was it so important int the Age Of Exploration?
A trade route to Asia; and it was important because the Europeans wanted to find a “new” Silk Road because of high prices and dangerous routes.
