Q

If there are two forces working at an angle how could you calculate the resultant force?

A

Resolve for horizontal and vertical.

  • Add the horizontal forces.
  • Add the vertical forces.

-Then create new triangle with these values and work out hypotenuse.

Q
  • When working with forces on a slope how are forces dealt with?
  • How does the weight act on the slope?
A
  • Forces parallel to the slope
  • Forces perpendicular to the slope.

-Works perpendicular so has a horizontal and vertical component.
