Phlebotomy
The insertion of a needle or cannula (small tube)into a vein for the purpose of withdrawing blood 
Venipuncture
The puncture of a vein, usually with a needle, for the purpose of drawing blood
Capillary puncture
A blood drawing technique that requires a superficial puncture of the skin with sharp point .
Tourniquet
An instrument for temporarily arresting the flow of blood to or from a distal part by pressure applied within an encircling device.
Butterfly system
A type of needle used to draw blood from patients with small or fragile veins. Sometimes called a winged infusion set. It has flexible wings attached to the needle in length of flexible tubing.
Reagent
A chemical or chemically treated substance used in test procedures, and formulated to react in specific ways when exposed under specific conditions
Lancets
A small, disposable instrument with a sharp point used to puncture the skin and make a shallow incision; used for capillary puncture
Micropipette
A small pipette that holds a small, precise, volume of fluid; used to collect capillary blood
