Culture
The values, material artifacts, and political institutions of a particular group of people within a region. In other words it refers to the entire set of customs within a region.
Folk Culture
A culture that is traditionally practices primarily by small, homogenous groups living in isolated rural areas. Small- scale, more about relocation difffusion.
Habit
A repetitive act that a particular INDIVIDUAL performs.
Custom
A repetitive task of a group, performed to an extent where it becomes a characteristic of the whole group.
Popular Culture
Culture that is found in large heterogenous (differing) societies that share certain habits despite differences in personal characteristics. Large-Scale, based on rapid communication systems, transportation etc. More about hierarchical diffusion.
Spatial distribution
The physical location of geographic phenomena across space, important in determining relation between material culture and physical environment.

Folk Songs
Songs that are composed anonymously and transmitted orally. (Usually) – Country Music is an example.
Popular Songs
Music that is written by specific individuals for the purpose of being sold to a large number of people. Originated around 1900 with the advent of the music hall and vaudeville. Tin Pan alley was also a famous hearth for this type of music.

stage entertainment made up of various acts, such as dancing, singing, comedy, and magic shows.
Tin Pan Alley
Name given to the collection of New York City-centered music publishers and songwriters who dominated the popular music of the United States in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s.
