Proceduarl Control

Airspace measures contained in the ACO
Employed to facilitate the efficient use of a/s to accomplish missions and simultaneously provide safeguards for friendly forces
ACMs
Is an ACM; uses altitude to separate users and as the transition between a/s control elements
Coordinating Altitude
ACM used to separate fixed-wing and rotary-wing a/c by determining an altitude below which fixed-wing a/c will not fly
Coordinating Level
Preplanned or immediate a/s reserved for specific activities in which the operation of one or more airspace use is restricted

Acronym and format for communicating procedural a/s control

DECON
Command, Location, Altitude, and plain-language fill ins
CLAP
30x30 minute cells, subdivided into four 15x15 minute qudrants. Each quadrant is divided into 9 5x5 minute areas (Read over then up)
GARS
30x30 minute cells divided into 9 10x10 minute keypads. Each keypad can be divided into 5x5 minute quadrants (Read up then over)
CGRS
Can be conducted using a grid reference system, latitude and longitude, or geographical landmarks
Lateral/geographical separation
Used by assigning aircraft a specific altitude referenced by thousands of feet, angels, or flight level. Blocks of altitude may also be assigned.
Altitude
Uses time to ensure geographical and/or altitude separation rather than relying on vertical or horizontal limitations. Most often used to coordinate fires in congested a/s.
