CH3 Flashcards
What are the parts of a cell (3)
Plasma membrane, cytoplasm, nucleus
How does passive transport take places in cell membrane
Simple diffusion, osmosis for water molecules and facilitated diffusion through proteins (channel/ carrier)
What happens if a cell is put into hypotonic solution
Water moves into the cell, the cell will swell
Hypotonic solution has lower solute concentration , water passes from high water concentration to lower water concentration .
What are the examples of active transport? Which protein is involved in ?
Primary active transport through carrier protein (pump)
Secondary active transport through carrier protein
Endocytosis through receptor protein (binding with ligand)
Phagocytosis (no protein involved)
Exocytosis (no protein involved)
Types of protein on cell membranes
Ion channels, carrier protein, receptor protein, enzymes, cell-identifying markers, linkers
