observation
Is a piece of information we gather using our sense - our sight, hearing, smell, and touch to extend their sense.
hypothesis
Is a testable idea or explanation that lead to a scientific investigation
prediction
a logical statement about what will happen if the hypothesis is supported
experiment
is a procedure designed to test a hypothesis under controlled conditions
variable
is the factor of intrested, which in our example, would be the level of phosphate in the water
experimental group

a distribution is the relative arrangement of the members of a statistical population

if you toss a penny, what is the probablilty that it will come up heads?
sample
sample is a group of individuals or events slectced to represent the population
risk
is the probablilty of an unwated outcome if you have no clue about the correct answer on a multiple choice test with four options
