What is the difference between Authentication and Authorization
Authentication is the process of granting access to a user, Authorization defines what a user has access too
What makes up a strong password?
Letters, Numbers, and Symbols
Minimum 8 Characters long
What is a group used for in Windows
A container of users that defines what the users can do and have access too
What are the default user groups in windows
Administrator
Guest
Power Users
Users
What is the difference between a User and Power User
A power user can not install programs and applications, but has basically the same rights as admin
User has no access registry or system files.
In Windows Vista and Windows 7 how are accounts managed
Through control panel. User, Admin and Guest are created by default
In Windows 8 - 10 how are accounts managed
Changes are made in the settings. Push to use microsoft account
What is the local users and group used for
Used to manage groups and users within the control panel. Objects are added to groups rather than users. An object will include accounts, groups, and computers
What are the permissions for NTFS
Ownership - full control
Take ownship - use in a different admin account
Change Permission - Give or take away permissions
Folder Permissions - Define what a user can do with a folder
File Permissions - Define what a user can do with a file
