Company wide network, close to public access that uses Internet type technology
Extranet
A controlled private network that lets more than one company access the same information or allows people on different servers to collaborate and do so without granting access to the organization’s entire network
Virtual private network (VPM)
A private data network that creates a secure connections (or tunnels) over regular Internet networks
Broadband technology
It continues connection to the Internet that allows users to send and receive video, voice, and data files quickly
Artificial intelligence (AI)
Machines programmed to think, work, and react like humans
Internet 2
The private Internet system that links government, supercomputers, centers and a select group of universities, it runs 22k X faster than today’s public infrastructure and supports heavy duty applications
Web 2.0
Set of tools that allow people to build social and business connections, share information and collaborate on projects online with user generated sites like blogs, wikis, social networking sites, and other online communities and virtual worlds
Web 3.0
Combination of technologies that add intelligence and changes how people interact with the web and vice versa (consists of the Semantic web, mobile web, and immersive Internet)
Cloud computing
Delivery of computing services, (including servers, storage, database, networking, software, analytics, and intelligence) over the Internet
