In Vinci. He was the illegitimate son of a lawyer and his mom was a servant of the house

He taught himself math because he was smarter than his instructor. He taught himself many skills
What were Leonardo’s special skills and how did he develop them?
Math, drawing, and painting. He became an apprentice for Verrochio

He first cleaned brushes and mixed paint and prepared canvasses for others
What evidence is there that his master (Verrochio) was pleased with his work?
He assigned him more important work like painting landscapes and backgrounds. He worked on some of Verrochio’s paintings
Who was Verrochio?
He was a friend of Leonardo’s father and was the leading artist in Florence. He had a workshop where Leonardo became an apprentice.
