Battery
Intentional infliction of harmful or offensive bodily contact.
Assault
Intentional infliction of apprehension of immediate bodily harm or offense of contact.
False imprisonment
Intentional confining of a person against her will.
Infliction of emotional distress
Extreme and outrageous conduct intentionally or recklessly causing severe emotional distress.
Defamation
False communication that injures a person’s reputation.
Libel
Written or electronically transmitted defamation.
E.g. television, radio, etc.
Slander
Spoken defamation
Appropriation
 unauthorized use of a person’s identity, name, or likeness.
Intrusion
Unreasonable and highly offensive interference with the seclusion of another.
Public disclosure of private facts
Highly offensive publicity of private information.
False light
Highly offensive and false publicity about another.
Misuse of legal procedure
Torts of malicious prosecution, wrongful civil proceeding, and abuse of process that protect an individual from unjustifiable litigation.
Real property
Land and anything attached to it.
Trespass to real property
Wrongfully entering on land of another.
Nuisance
A nontrespassory interference with another’s use and enjoyment of land.
Personal property
Any property other than land.
Trespass to personal property
An intentional taking or use of another’s personal property.
Conversion
Intentional exercise of control over another’s personal property.
Interference with contractual Relations
Intentionally causing one of the parties to a contract not to perform.
Disparagement
Publication of false statements about another’s property or products resulting in harm to another’s monetary interests.
Fraudulent misrepresentation
A false statement, made with knowledge of its falsity, intended to induce another to act.
Tort
A civil wrong causing injury to persons, their property, or their economic interests.
Punitive damages
Damages awarded in excess of normal compensation to punish a defendant for a serious civil wrong.
Intent
Desire to cause the consequences of an act or knowledge that the consequences are substantially certain to result from the act.
Recklessness
Conduct that evidences a conscious disregard of or an indifference to the consequences of the act committed.
Privilege
Immunity from tort liability.
