Ch 7 Flashcards
Changes to Weather During Arrivals
If the reported weather decreases below
minimums after starting a descent, receiving radar vectors for an approach, or established on
any segment of an approach prior to the missed approach point (MAP), you may continue approach
(AETC) Changes to Weather During Arrivals
The PIC will ensure the aircraft has
sufficient fuel to go missed approach and land at the alternate airfield with required reserves.
Cold Weather Altitude Corrections
Below 32F/0C correct all altitudes inside FAF or below 1000’ AGL
Below -22F/-30C Correct All altitudes on approach
Precision Approach Radar (PAR)/Airport Surveillance Radar
(ASR) Approaches
These are approaches that require radar services. The PAR provides the
pilot with precise course, glideslope, and range information; the ASR provides course and
range information and is classified as a non-precision approach. During an ASR and upon
request, the controller will provide recommended altitudes on final to the last whole mile that
is at or above the published MDA.
Landing Gear Reporting Procedures
Retractable gear aircraft will report gear down
status to ATC or runway supervisory unit after extending the landing gear. This report shall
be made during any approach prior to crossing the runway threshold
Land and Hold Short Operations
Fixed-wing pilots are prohibited from
accepting LAHSO clearances
