What is the predicative use of the adjective?
An adjective that does not directly modify a noun but rather asserts something about it; the adjective may either precede or follow the noun; matches the noun in gender and number but not definiteness. Ex. “the student is good.”
What is the substantive use of the adjective?
An adjective that has no noun to modify. Ex. the Hebrew adjective meaning “wise” by itself means “a wise one.”
