The project charter is meant to help the team and head off potential conflict between individuals. If conflict should arise, the charter has several components, including risks, roles, responsibilities, etc. that address potential sources of conflict and may help to resolve the issues
What is meant by the term ground rules? Give examples.
Ground rules are acceptable behaviors adopted by a project team to improve working relationships, effectiveness and communication. Some examples include: encouraging participants through consistency and including all members, maintaining focus, making decisions, handling conflict, developing trust, avoiding misunderstandings, and protecting confidentiality.
Under which circumstances might a project manager or sponsor retain the right to make a project decision?
If the decision needs to be made quickly or it takes higher authority.
What are the benefits of delegating a decision to one or two team members?
The team members get to know each other better and will most likely work well together or the rest of the project duration.
When might consensus be the best decision making strategy?
When significant commitment is necessary to implement the decision and each person actively supports the decision, because it was the best decision for the project.
