Centrifugal
Star from middle and spread outward
Centripetal
Start from outside and go inward
Papules
Small bumps under 1cm, small solid mass
If over 1cm, they are nodules
Elevated
(Latin for pimple)
Plaques
Bumps that are large and flat
Solid mass in the surface of the skin
Vesicles
Small bumps <1cm filled with clear fluid
Smaller blister
Pustules
Vesicle but filled with pus
Pus filled blister
Small bump with pus
Larger vesicle like a blister
bulla (Latin for bubble)
Larger pustules
Localized collection of pus in the body
Abscess
Ab scess
Away go
Believe that harmful tumors of the body would go away via pus leaking from an abscess
Macule/macula
Small flat discolored areas
Small flat spots like freckles
Patch (vitiligo)
Large macules are called patches
Larger flat discolored area
Cherry angioma
Mass caused by Too many blood vessels formed in one area
Telangiectasia
Caused by Heavy concentration of blood vessels. Like a flat cherry angioma but FLaT.
Petechiae
Small bruises
Ecchymosis
Larger bruises
Cultured
Sampled to see if it harbors bacteria, virus, fungus
