What do we call animals with back bones?
Vertebrates
What do we call animals without backbones?

Name the five groups of vertebrates.
mammals
fish
amphibians
reptiles
birds
List five ways mammals are alike.
- They make milk for their babies
- They have at least some hair
- No mammal has more than four limbs (legs, arms, wings)
- All mammals are warm-blooded
- All mammals have lungs and breath air

- They have fins.
- They are cold-blooded.
What does it mean if an animal is cold-blooded?

- All reptiles are cold-blooded.
Name some reptiles.
snakes, lizards, turtles, crocodiles, and alligators
