What was the Iron Curtain?
The Iron Curtain is a term describing the political boundary dividing Europe into two separate areas from the end of World War II until the end of the Cold War.
How did the Cold War affect American life at home?
Not only did the Cold War shape U.S. foreign policy, it also had a profound effect on domestic affairs. Americans had long feared radical subversion, and during the Red Scare of 1919-1920, the government had attempted to remove perceived threats to American society.
What is Marxism-Leninism?

The purpose of Marxism-Leninism is to turn a capitalist state into a socialist state; it became a distinct movement in the Soviet Union when Stalin and his supporters gained control of the party.

Containment was a foreign policy strategy followed by the U.S. during the Cold War. It stated that communism needed to be contained and isolated, or else it would spread to neighboring countries.

The Berlin Airlift was a 1940s military operation that supplied West Berlin with food and other vital goods by air after the Soviet Union blockaded the city.
What was the Berlin Blockade?
The Berlin Blockade was one of the first major international crises of the Cold War. During the multinational occupation of post-World War II Germany, the Soviet Union blocked the Western Allie’s’ railway, road, and canal access to the sectors of Berlin under Western control.

The Marshall Plan was a U.S. sponsored program designed to rehabilitate the economies of European countries after the aftermath of World War II.
