- Woman in her home holding an empty scale for measuring gold. Gold represents vanity. Empty scale represents balance between sin and virtue. Also shows female occupancy in the Dutch household.

Post 1700. Overflowing vase of red, pink, and white flowers. The flowers are idealized based on botanical research. Diagonal slant to balance spacing with the table.
Mansart and Le Brun. Hall of Mirrors, Versailles
- Hallway with mirrors on both sides and crystal chandeliers. Part of Louis XIV’s palace of Versailles. Mirrors create the illusion of height and space.
Rigaud. Louis XIV
- Portrait of the King of France at the time. Stands with a proud pose and expression. Reveals legs and shoes for elegance. Royal French furniture and symbols in the background.

- Three Shepherds watched over by a female figure. Classical style. Woman may symbolize death. Even lighting and balance of subjects.
