Carrying out and enforcing policies.

Deciding which proposals will become authoritative rules.

The flow of information through society and the various structures that make up the political system.
political recruitment
Selection of people for political activity.
political socialization
Involves: families, schools, communication media, churches, etc.
process functions
Functions of political process.
regulation
Of behavior, rules.
structural function approach
Stresses 2 points: 1) that the same function will operate differently from 1 country to another and 2) a particular institution often performs multiple functions.

Comprised of 3 important functions for success of the system:
