Psychodynamic theory
Treatment for psychological disorders based on the work of Sigmund Freud psychodynamic Therapy a therapist worked with clients to help them gain insight about how their unconscious processes may be causing inner conflict and impairing daily functioning
Humanistic therapy
Treatment for psychological disorders in which a therapist works with clients to help them develop their potential for personal growth through greater insight
Behavior therapy
Treatment for psychological disorder in which a therapist works with a client to help them replace maladaptive behaviors with adaptive behaviors
Cognitive therapy
Treatment for psychological disorders in which a therapist works with clients to help them change distorted thought patterns
Cognitive behavioral therapy
Treatment for psychological disorders in which a therapist incorporates techniques from cognitive therapy and behavior therapy to help clients Correct faulty thinking and maladaptive behaviors

Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT)
Treatment for psychological disorders that involves administrating a Strong electrical current to the client sprain to produce a seizure ECT is effective in some cases of severe depression

Treatment for psychological disorders that Uses a magnetic field to Interrupt function in specific brain regions
Exposure
Therapy technique that involves repeatedly exposing a client to an anxiety producing stimulus or situation the goal is to reduce the clients fear through extinction of the fear response
Systematic desensitization
Therapy technique in which the client imagines or is exposed to situations that produce increasing anxiety while learning to relax
Exposure and response prevention
Therapy technique that Exposes a client to a stimulus That causes anxiety because it triggers obsessive thoughts and then prevents the client from engaging in compulsive behavior to reduce anxiety
Deep brain stimulation
Treatment for psychological disorders that use mild electricity to stimulate the brain at an optimal frequency and intensity
Exposure Phototherapy
Treatment for depressive disorder with seasonal pattern informally called seasonal affective disorder the client is exposed to high intensity light each day
