• Body → called a thallus; made of hyphae, which are long filaments (strings) of cells
• May or may not be divided by septa (incomplete cell in between the cells)
• Aseptate → no cell wall
• If a fragment breaks off, it can potential grow into a new fungus

• Vegetative hyphae → grows below the surface, obtain nutrients
• Aerial hyphae →above the surface; bear reproductive spore; fuzzy part of mold
• Mycelium → Large mass of visible hyphae
