CH. 11 Terrorism Flashcards
Lone Wolf Terrorist
A terrorist that could that has no affiliation with international terrorists group and acts alone or in small groups of 2 to 3 people.
Between the years 1968 and 2007, 42 percent of the identified lone wolf attacks in the
world occurred in the United States
Social media, internet, and other media have provided new virtual tools for the recruitment
and propaganda platform for terrorist groups to reach out, not only to other like-minded extremists,
but also to lonely, isolated young youths without a cause. With these new forms of
communication, terrorist groups are now turning to the tactic to empower and motivate individuals to commit violent acts on their own, independent of the terrorist chain of command. Although they act
alone, “they see themselves as belonging to a virtual community, a virtual community of hatred”
Advantageous Comparison

The viewing and treatment of other people as though they lack the mental capacity that are commonly attributed to human beings

Right-Wing Terrorism
