control room
the area where video and audio elements in a production are brought together in the creation of a program. The control room is the location where the director works while a production is being telecast or recorded
Director
the individual most responsible for the creative control of a television program, responsible for supervising the artistic aspects of a production
Expanded multicamera television system
a television production situation that involves more than one camera, as well as multiple other audio and video sources for the creation of a program
Floor manager
the crewmember who serves as the director’s liaison in the television studio, relaying commands to talent and crew during production
Preview monitor
a television screen found in the control room that allows the director to see a video image from its source, such as a camera
Producer
the individual most responsible for the creation and organization of a television program, responsible for all business aspects of the production
Switcher
The control room equipment that controls all video elements in a television production. The switcher is operated by the technical director
Television studio
the area of a television facility where the cameras capture the content of a program
Executive producer
in charge of arranging the budget for a production, sometimes as an outside agent, but frequently as an employee of the station or network. In some situations this individual may not be present on the set during production
Producer
oversees an individual production and responsible for all aspects of the project, including personnel and production elements
