Joseph and Mary searched 3 days for Jesus and found him accordingly in his “Father’s House” conversing with elders

- Jesus’ baptism by St. John the Baptist began his public ministry
to be an example to all - He then went into the desert fasting, praying, and preparing accordingly for 40 days.

to be an example to all to be baptized into the faith

After the Holy Spirit the Apostles began to preach in different languages to the pilgrims.
Many were skeptical at first but the Apostles preached about:

baptism by John and fulfillment of the law by Jesus

Holy - The Founder is Holy and means to salvation is Holy. Teachings and sacraments aim at holiness to make those who follow holy.

Apostolic - guided by God and established by the Apostles.
Hierarchy of the church can be traced back to the Apostles. Bishops are known as the successors of the Apostles.

What did St. Stephen’s death signify
- St. Stephen FD: Dec. 26
- St Stephen was accused and tried before the Sanhedrin.
The Sanhedrin stoned him to death while he pleaded to God to forgive them. - This marked the beginning of the persecutions and an example of Martyrdom
Who was Saul
Why did Saul persecute the church
- A pious Jew who was educated in the Law who initially persecuted the church
- He believed the church was a threat to the covenant that jews believed in.

What does Saul’s conversion story signify
On his way to Damascus, Saul encounters a light from Heaven (Jesus) and was blinded.
- A disciple named Ananias instructed by God restored Saul’s vision.
- Afterwards Saul was baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit began preaching that Jesus is the Son of God.
St Paul’s conversion shows irony as well as calling all sinners and enemies to the church. St Paul was one of the greatest and most capable evangelizers.

Cornelius was a “devout and God fearing” gentile who had a vision to seek out Peter.
Jewish Christians still followed Jewish tradition, however Jewish law forbade them from associating with gentiles.
