Self-Advocacy
Undertaken by someone with disability who speaks up and represents themselves.
Support and training for self-advocacy is available through community based groups
Individual Advocacy
A one-on-one approach, undertaken by a professional advocate, relative, friends or volunteer, to prevent or address instances of unfair treatment or abuse
Group Advocacy
Involves advocating for a group of people with disability, such as a group of people living in shared accomodation
Citizen Advocacy
Where community volunteers advocate for a person with a disability, such as an intellectual disability, over the long-term, supported by a citizen advocacy organisation
Systemic Advocacy
Involves working for long-term social changes to ensure the collective rights and interests of people with disability are served through legislation, policies and practices
Legal Advocacy
Where a lawyer provides legal representation in the justice system, pursues positive changes to legislation, or gives legal advice to people with disability about discrimination and human rights
Disability Support Pension
Financial support for people who have physical, intellectual or psychiatric condition that stops them from working, or people who are permanently blind

Social:
Able to afford, travel, assistance to a community event and involvement
Cultural:
Afford involvement to cultural events
Environmental: potentially be able to live on their own and to be able to afford any equipment or another support
Financial: able to financially support themselves (appointments, equipment, support, meds)

Protection for everyone in Australia against discrimination on based on disability
Unlawful to discriminate in the provision of goods, services or facilities against people based on disability

Cultural: encourages community integration including community events, cultural events and religious gathering

Aim of providing a coordinated approach to assisting people with disability gain and maintain employment.
Provides a set of guiding standards for the delivery of quality services known as the Disability Services Standards
