What are the views for cervicals?
Lateral cervical, AP cervical and AP open mouth
What is the distance (SID) for a lateral cervical?
72”
What is the distance for AP cervical and APOM?
40”
What is the film size for all three cervical views?
10x12 (make sure you change the cassettes each time you do a set up even if they are all the same size)
What is the collimation for Lateral cervical and AP cervical views?
8x10
What is the collimation for an APOM view?
under eyelids (orbit) and include the mastoids
What is the CR entrance for Lateral cervical and AP cervical?
C4 (thyroid cartilage)
What is the CR entrance for an APOM view?
middle of mouth
What are the breathing instructions for all cervical views?
deep breath, exhale and stop breathing (exhale and hold)
Do any of these views have a tube tilt? If so, which one?
Yes, AP cervical
What do you have to do to protect the future babies?
Put a lead shielld which covers from the waist down
How do you know which side is which (left vs. right side)?
Place an anatomical marker in the appropriate place where it is in the light field and out of the way of the anatomy
What is the tube tilt amount for AP cervical?
15 degrees cephalic
For Cervicals, what to you need to make sure is level with horizon?
Make sure hard palate and base of skull are level with horizon in cervicals
What is the first thing you should always do before you set up on cervicals?
say all artifacts are removed and patient is gowned. Also preform caliper measurements
