Definition
A
Chronic degenerative condition of the cervical spine that affects the vertebral bodies and intevertebral discs of the neck( in the form of disk herniation and spur formation) as well as contents of the spinal canal
Cervical sponylosis with compression of the cord (Myelopathy) and nerve root is the elaing cause of progressive spastic quadriparesis with sensory loss below the neck.

Signs
A
- Limited, painful neck movement + crepitus- be careful
- Neck flexion may produce tingling down the spine
Signs of cord compression:
- spastic leg weakness (often 1 leg> other)
- weak clumsly hands
- numbness in hands
- Heavy legs
- foot drop/ poor walking
- incontinence, hesitancy and urgency are often late
