What is rust’s sign
Suggests severe upper cervical (Atlanto-axial) instability
What is Libmans sign
Used to demonstrate an unusually low, high, or normal threshold for pain in the patient
Bakody’s sign
The decrease traction on the brachial plexus results in a decrease in pain
Reverse bakody sign
If the patients pain increases indicates THORACIC OUTLET SYNDROME
Bikele’s sign
Stresses the brachial plexus used to find radicular pain
Dejerines triad is
Indicates a space occupying lesion
Valsalvas maneuver
Identifies a space occupying lesion
Swallowing test is
If dysphasia is present it is positive. SOL
A positive swallow test indicates
Esophageal irritation due to direct trauma or a retroesophageal SOL
Naffzigers test
Occludens the external jugular veins then have patient cough.
Backs up venous flow along with increase intra-thecal pressure
Barr’e-Lie’ou test
To rule out vascular insufficiency, cervicogenic vertigo, and possible vestibular apparatus abnormality
Vertebrobasilar artery functional maneuver
Rule out vascular insufficiency
DeKleyn’s test
Rule out vascular insufficiency
Distraction test is
Confirm IVF encroachment
Increased pain indicates= MUSCLE SPASM
Foraminal compression test
To confirm IVF encroachment and nerve root involvement
Localized pain- indicates formainal encroachment
Radicular pain- indicates pressure on nerve root
