HPV testing
what happens if the HPV is positive or negative
negative:
back to routine testing
positive:
sent for cytology
what happens if the cytology is normal or abnormal
normal:
repeat HPV in 12 months and again at 24 months if still positive
if positive still, then colposcopy
abnormal:
colposcopy
what happens if the sample is inadequate
take another within 3 months
if two samples after is still inadequate, refer for colposcopy
