what are some guideline for the canada cervical spine rules?
age 65 or older, dangerous mechanism of injury, able to rotate neck less than 45 degrees
what group is least likely to seek care for neck pain?
old males
what does severity refer to?
intensity of the pain provoking activity
what does irritability refer to?
how far into a movement pain is provoked, how long it takes for pain to subside after the movement is withdrawn
what does nature refer to?
refers to the type of tissue that is causing the symptoms
what does stage refer to?
the stage of healing that the patient is in. Acute, subacute, chronic
what does stability refer to?
is the problem: worsening, improving, stabilizing
what are the 5 D’s of vertebrobasilar insufficieny?
dizziness, diplopia, dysarthria, dysphasia, drop attacks
what are the cluster tests for radiculopathy?
ULNT (median), cervical rotation (<60 degrees), cervical distraction test, spurlings test
