Issued when the company and shipboard management operate in accordance with the approved safety-management system.
What should a safety induction include?
1) Communication with other persons on safety matter s and understand information symbols, signs and alarm signals.
2) Know the procedure in case of man overboard, fire or smoke detected or fire or abandon ship sounded.
3) Identify alarm points, muster and embarkation stations and emergency escape routes.
4) Locate and don lifejackets.
5) Knowledge on use of portable fire extinguishers.
6) Take immediate action upon encountering an accident or medical emergency.
7) Close and open the fire, weathertight and watertight doors.
