uses a j curve to allow greater velocity in the approach and plants th eoutside foot to llow the insde leg to lift along with the arms at take off to raise the centre of mass as hihg as possible.fully extends the spine to rotate around the bar movinf the centre of mass outside of the body and below the bar =.only one section of the body is above the bar at one time.
therefore beaus ethe centre of mass passes underneath the bar the fosbury flop requires less force to clear the same heights as earlier techniques.
