Ongoing crisis

  • Despite the large oversupply of housing there is still an absence of social housing (Harris,J.2018)
  • According to Hearne,R the problem traces back to the 1980’s when the govt restricted the number of social housing being built
  • Due to the large sum of money to fund the building of public housing and the poor public finances that Ireland has suffered with it has meant that there is a low amount of public housing. (Byrne,M.2018)
