Cells, Diffusion, Osmosis, Active Transport Flashcards
1
Q
Describe the structure of plant cells
A
- nucleus
- DNA
- cytoplasm
- starch grain
- chloroplast (containing chlorophyll)
- large sap vacuole
- ribosomes
- cell wall
- cell membrane
- mitochondrion (for aerobic respiration)
2
Q
How are root hair cells’ structure adapted for absorption
A
They absorb water by osmosis and minerals by active transport. They also have mitochondria to roi vide energy for active transport.
3
Q
What does an animal cell contain ?
A
- small vacuoles
- cytoplasm
- ribosomes ( where protein synthesis takes place)
- cell membrane
- nucleus (contains genetic material)
- DNA
- rough er (contains ribosomes and produces proteins for excretion)
- mitochondria (look like sausages, used for aerobic respiration)
