What is the cytoplasm
a jelly like substance it contains all the organelles such as nucleus and dissolved substances such as oxygen

the nucleus carries the DNA
What does the cell membrane do?
Surrounds the cell and controls what materials move in and out the cell
what is a ribosome
Where proteins eg. insulin amylase and collagen are formed
what is chloroplast
they contain chlorophyll which allows plants to absorb sunlight
what is the difference between an animal and plan cell
a plant cell has a large vacuole, chloroplast and large vacuole and an animal cell doesn’t have any of these
what is an organism
An organism is a name given to living things

a living organism that is made up of one cell
What is a multicellular organism
organism that consists of many cells specialised to carry out different functions
What is a tissue
a group of cells of the same type, working together to do a particular job
What is an organ
a group of tissues working together to carry out a function
