The basic building blocks of life. They make up everything

Group of cells with similar structure to do one task by working together
What is an Organ?
A group of tissues working together to do a certain task. It can include muscle, glandular, and epithelial tissue
What is an Organ System?
A group of organs that do a certain task
What is an Organism?
A group of organ systems that make up something that can move, breathe, and live
Where is Amylase found and what is it’s function?
Amylase is found in the mouth and small intestine. It helps to break down carbohydrates
Where is Pepsin found and what is it’s function?
Pepsin is found in the stomach and small it intestine. It helps to break down proteins
Where is Lipase found and what is it’s function?
Lipase is found in the liver, gall bladder and small intestine. It helps to break down lipids (fats)
What are Enzymes?
Enzymes are bio - catalysts. They’re protein molecules. Most contain between 100 - 1000 amino acids
What are Proteins made up off?
A long chain of amino acids
