the part in a cell where DNA is contained. The nucleus controls all the cell’s activities
Cytoplasm
The jelly-like substance inside the cell. Chemical reactions take place here
Mitochondria
Where energy escapes from the food and The site of respiration
Cell wall
The outside layer of a plant cell
Permanent vacuole
A large area in a plant cell that stores food (cell sap)
Chloroplast
Are found in plant cells and some unicellular organisms e.g. euglena. This is where light is trapped for photosynthesis to be performed
Unicellular organisms
Organisms with only 1 cell
Diffusion
The movement of particles from an area of high concentration to low concentraion
Sperm cell adaptations
Long tail and body for swimming
A root hair cell adaptation
Long length to collect more water
Binary fission
A process which unicellular organisms use to divide

The building block of life
Prokaryotes
Single celled living organisms like bacteria
