Cells Flashcards
Nucleus
Nucleus contain the cells genetic information. The nucleus is like the brain of the cell that take control of everything in the cell.
Eukaryotas
Is organisms whose cells contain a nucleus and other membrane-brane organelles.
(Always has a nucleus).
Prokaryotoes
Is organisms whose cells never contain (or lack) a nucleus and other membrane-bound organelles.
(Always does not have a nucleus).
Organelles
In cells contain a variety of internal structure called organelles.
Organell
Is a cell component that performs Specific Functions For The Cell.
Cell Membrane
It’s the outside of the cell. A cell membrane is there for support and only allows some things go in and out.
Cytosol
Is liquid inside a cell.
Cytoplasm
Is the fluid in the cell like jelly. Cytosol + organelles.
Mitochondria
Supply’s energy to the cell respiration. Mitochondria is responsible for produces energy by taking sugar.
Ritosomes
They make protein.
Cell walls
Are the borders of a plant’s cell.
Chloroplasts
Is where photosynthesis happen.
Large Vacuoles
Are membrane-bound sacs with in the cytoplasm of a cell for storage.
Chromosomes
Is a tiny, wire-like structure inside of a nucleus cell. It contains the DNA the genetic information.
Deoxyribonucleic acid
A chemical object that are found in living things.
Mitosis
A process that from a cell division process that makes new cells.
Clones
Is the copy of the exact object.
Cytokinesis
It is when the process of dividing a cytoplasm into two to make daughter cells.
Infectious diseases
Is a diseases that can be move from one organism to the another.
Non-infectious diseases
Is a diseases that can not be move from one organism to the another. Eg. Cancer
Antibiotics
A substance that is used to kill bacteria in your body.
Disinfectants
It is for killing bacteria on the surface by using chemicals on non living objects.
Antiseptics
Mild disinfectant used to kill microbes on body tissue.
Bactericidal
Referred to when antiseptics that kill bacteria.
Bacteriostatic
Describes an antiseptic that doesn’t kill the bacteria but stops bacteria from growing or dividing.
