What most of life is made up of
Nucleus
An organelle that holds the genetic make of the cell.
Cytoplasm
The liquid in the cell that holds all the organelles
cell membrane
structure that encloses the contents of a cell and allows the movement of some materials in and out
ribosomes
small structures within a cell in which proteins such as enzymes are made
mitochondria
small rod-shaped organelles that supply energy to other parts of the cell. They are usually too small to be seen with light microscopes. Singular = mitochondrion.
Cell membrane
A wall that can allow or block certain particle into the cell.
Cell wall
An outer wall of the membrane gives structure and protection for only plant cells.
Vacuole
A large space for plant cells to store things like air.
Chloroplasts
An organelle that the process of photosynthesis uses
Organelle
Small shapes that do certain jobs inside a cell.
