Cells Flashcards
Fibroblast cell
Produces fibers, most common. They are large shaped cells they produce fibers by secreting proteins into extra cellular matrix of connective tissue
Macrophages cell
Carry on phagocytosis originate white blood cells and are numerous fibroblasts in connective tissue. They carry phagocytosis they are defense
Mast cell
Secret heparin and histamine. Large and distributed throughout the connective tissue. Near the blood vessel. Prevents from blood from clotting
Microglial cell
Scattered throughout the central nervous system. They support neurons and phagocytize bacteria cell and cellular debris
Oligodendrocytes cell
Alone along nerve fibers. It provides insulating layers of myelin. Around the brain and spinal cord.
Astrocytes
Found between neurons and blood vessels, provides structural support join part by their abundant cellular processes and help regulate the concentration of nutrients and ion within the tissue
Ependymal
Form a epithelial like membrane that covers specialized brain part and forms inner linings that encloses. Spaces within the brain and spinal cord
