Q

What is the role of the nucleus

Q

Vacuole

A

There may be several very small vacuoles in an animal cell. They may contain wastes of chemicals that are being moved around the cell.

16
Q

What are chloroplasts

A

Many plant cells contain additional organelles called chloroplasts. They contain a green substance called chlorophyll and are the site of photosynthesis.

17
Q

What does a vacuole do in a plant cell?

A

The vacuole is large, and occupies most of the cell. It is filled with sap, and collects water, wastes, and nutrients. When it is full, it pushes against the cell wall and keeps it rigid.

18
Q

The process in which plants manufacture food is called

A

Photosynthesis
