Cells Flashcards
What parts do both animal and plant cells have?
> cell membrane
> nucleus
> cytoplasm
> mitochondria
>
What do plant cells have that animals cells do not?
> cell wall
-provides support and strengthens the cell
> sap vacuole
-contains cell sap of sugars and salt
> chloroplasts
-contain chlorophyll needed to absorb the sunlight for photosynthesis
What does a yeast cell contain?
> cell wall
> cell membrane
> nucleus containing genetic material
> cytoplasm
What does a bacteria cell contain?
> cytoplasm
> cell membrane
> genetic material
Why is a bacteria cell different?
It has no nucleus( the genetic material is suspended in the cytoplasm)
It has a flagella
Define differentiation
The process by which a cell becomes specialised for a specific function
When does differentiation occur?
During the development of a multicellular organism
